Who We Are

Total is enjoying its presence in Saudi Arabia for the last 40 years. We have developed a successful and mutually rewarding relationship with the national oil company “Saudi Aramco”, notably in the downstream sector. Total began operations in Saudi Arabia when we signed a crude oil off-take agreement in 1974. We have our representative office in the country since 1978, which is currently in Al-Khobar.

Marketing & Services

Saudi Total Petroleum Products is a joint venture between Total (51%) and Zahid Group (49%). It markets a wide range of lubricants and specialty products under the Total brand for the automotive, manufacturing, and marine industries. Headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Total Petroleum Products has its branch offices and warehouses in Riyadh and Dammam.
The company produces lubricants using the state-of-the-art automated blending plant located in King Abdullah Economic City. The facility became operational on May 2013 with an initial production capacity of 25,000 metric tons of lubricants per year, operating a single shift.
Total has also established a base at Jeddah Airport, by having a Petrostar Aviation joint venture in which we have a 25% stake, alongside our local Saudi partner.

Refining & Chemicals

Total signed a joint venture with Saudi Aramco in 2008 to form SATORP, which has developed a world-class full-conversion refining and petrochemicals complex in Jubail. Having a capacity to process 400,000 barrels of Arabian heavy crude oil per day, this marks SATORP as Total’s largest refinery and one of the most efficient one in terms of crude oil conversion.
SATORP will ultimately provide 1,200 permanent jobs and five times as many indirect jobs.

Total is a member of the KAUST Industry Collaboration Program (KICP). It is a unique R&D partnership between the industrial sector and the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).
